Why would your doctor to want you to gain weight?  Your bmi is perfect at 22.9, I don't understand?  You will be able to gain easily eventually why encourage gain when you are still not there yet?

I agree.  Just keep an eye on your weight.  I had actually gotten too thin at one time and had to eat more frequently.  It CAN happen but it is rare that you lose too much.  I know people tell me at 132 I'm fine but BMI wise, I am boarderline overweight, go figure.  I am 5' 2 1/2".  Anyway, enjoy your new life and body.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Keep doing what you are doing - you will be able to eat in increasing volumes and then you are likely to be asking us how to cope with regain ...

Very few people actually get too thin ...   I got down to a BMI of 20 at one point (for about 5 minutes) (at about 6 months after surgery) but I know I'll never see that again LOL!!!!    Most of us even out or even gain back a few pounds to fluff out a bit - believe me, there are few of us long term vets (5 years plus) that fight to put weight on!!!!!

The only reasonings behind her wantings me to put some weight on is because I am experiencing bone pains... in my hips and tail bone badly!  when I lay on my sides at bed time and when I sit too hard... I have to be verrrry careful... so she is just looking out for me... and this is not my surgeon... this is my family doc... so thank you for all the support!! i know 22 is considered Normal BMI .. I am watching it.. definately :)

I went through the same thing.......especially tailbone pain!  It goes away in time.  I think your weight is great where you are.  I would recommend you simply maintain.

A lot of people who aren't used to seeing us at a normal size tend to think we are waaaayyyy to small....for awhile, until they get used to our new appearance!

Congrats on your loss!

If it is because of tailbone pain, they have a special round cushion to sit on to help with that.  For your hips while sleeping look at a foam topper to your mattress if you need more padding.  If you gain weight, there is no guarantee that it will be in those areas!

Good luck!

Sounds like maybe your body isn't finished loosing.

If you feel good I would just be patient.  You may start gaining in a few/several more months because we sometimes have what is called bounce back weight gain.

Best of luck to you keep us posted.

Thank you all for all the feedback.... I am going to just keep up with my calcium and vitamin D, etc... and proteins but maintaining is my goal... I went to the doctor yesterday and she was "different" this time... really ... proud of me lol... said I should keep up the good work and keep doing what I am doing... she is so random!! so "mean" one month... and "nice" the next... family doctors are so weird... if it wasn't for that monthly B12 shot I wouldn't even be going once a month ya know!! LOL grrrr
