Those parents are SICK and what they're doing to their kids is abusive, IMO.

Seriously, to me this should be considered abuse. If the parents were NOT feeding the children it would be considered abuse and they would be slapped in jail. Or, say, if they were giving their kids drugs or alcohol. What they are doing is endangering their children and teaching them food-abuse. I'm steaming right now - these parents should be horse-whipped. Laura

This is too sad for words. I work across from a Peds clinic and there are two kids, one 3 and the other is 5. The 3 year old weighs 130 lbs and the 5 year old weighs almost 200! I had to walk out of the clinic (I was delivering them their mail). I came back to my desk and thought about myself as a fat kid and how my lovely, slim mother (adopted) used to walk with me everyday and get me to snack on fruit and popcorn. There weren't any sugar free drinks then so she gave me very diluted Koolaid or juices. How sad for these kids who are the future diabetics of America. Suzie

Well as long as people tune in and buy the sponsors products, it worked. The people being used the most are the ones on the other side of the glass though, they are the only ones involved who are paying, everyone else including the "guests" get paid.

I am not replying to the toddlers, but to the "kids on tv". Me and my twin boys were on The Lezza Show in 1996, It was a last resort and a cry for help on my part, my boys were 16 at the time. My boys had, and have a very long drawn out history and I had reached all other ends of every road down every highway in the life I was living. I would have in no way gone on another talk show, Like Springer, but Lezza seemed to have compassion and answers...long story short, would I do it again?? no... they did not help me in the way I needed with my boys and I was disappointed once again. I know that going on talk shows is not the answer for alot of people, but I can see why some go on the shows, it's the producers and all that make the shows worse than they really appear to be. I feel for the ones who are crying out and no one will listen, no one hears them. Would I do it again? no, but I understand why some do.

It doesn't border on child abuse. It is child abuse. All I can say is that the parents are completely sick in their minds and have a death wish for their kids or are doing it for attention. Chew up the chicken and feed it to a kid!! Gimme a break!! I thought it was child abuse when I would feed my babies prunes or spinach. She has me chewing tacks and I didn't even watch the show. Are there no Dad's in the picture? It is a case of child abuse plain and clear. It just goes to show that some people should never procreate. Does anyone else feel this way? I have (or had) my own bad habits but try NOT to instill that in my own children. I always praise them when they make healthy choices. Rita 1 month / -28.5

Hi girls. Just wanted to get my two cents in. I saw the tail end of that program today. It is very sad. One time Maury had a little girl on who was told that she could have a heartattack anytime because of her weight. She was only 4 or 5 years old. As far as going on the talk shows, I think some go on because they think they will get the referrals and help they need. Something that maybe they can't get because of lack of insurance, money, or availability of services in their area. On a personal thought I was wondering how do they afford the amount of food it takes to satisy these poor children. I could feed my entire family of 4 on what they eat in 2-3 days for a week. And what kind of pediatrician doesn't step in and notify DCF that there is a problem in the home and there needs to be intervention. Not that these parents don't love their children but need the state to step in and give court mandated intervention to get these children's lives healthy. Down off my soap box now. Thanks for letting me share. Love Toni
