So Im on soft foods but im struggling with variety. For the most part I'm eating the same foods that I ate on pureed. Eggs im handling better and I ate chicken today but I dont like the full feeling it gave me so i might hold off on that til later.

I thought about eating so chili but it has a lot of carbs in it what do you all think? Can you offer me some low carb protein filled foods for the spft food phase...

People keep telling me I need to eat more so that I can lose more but its hard to eat a lot. I dunno if its a head game for me or what.

 Tuna with mayo

greek yogurt with sf jam or fresh fruit

chicken is not a soft food unless it is minced and in either a gravy or mayo.

ground beef cooked with pasta sauce and some shredded cheese on top

These were some of my favourites.

Tuna Salad if it's well broken up with low fat mayo (only Tuna and mayo no vegies).

Well cooked fish: salmon, tuna, scallops. Slightly mashed, if you have issues.

You can make your own chili that isn't high in carbs (no beans light on tomato sauce) with ground turkey. Low fat cheese added makes it go down easier.

Thin deli sliced turkey. With or without low fat cheese.

“liteÂ" canned fruits, packed in their own juice, such as peaches, pears, or fruit ****tail but if you're worried about the carbs in chili, these are high in carbs. These can be mixed with protiens for variety.

Thats all I can think of for now.

Good luck.

I dont eat seafood. My dr gave me a food menu its no different from the pureed other than deli meat and canned fruit and vegs. he told me i could try to eat chicken because of my lack of protein but im not gonna do that anymore. i dont like the full feeling it gives me. ive been eating 1/2 and egg lately almost ate the whole thing last night.

He told me to try a variety of foods but im worried about the carbs. I eat beans because I can get protein too

Too bad you don't eat seafood. A good salmon grilled is great protien, low fat and high in Omega 3s. Oh well.

I know what you mean about the chicken. I'm past soft foods and I tolerated a chicken leg well but when I tried a chicken breast it really gave me problems.

Perhaps some canned chicken (they prepare it like tuna) with low fat mayo. A chicken salad per say. I haven't tried it myself (because I can eat tuna).

Hang in there. You'll get to transition foods soon.

Most of the carbs in chili come from the beans. They're complex carbs, so---not so bad. And realistically, how much can you eat, at this point? But you could make your own chili and just leave the beans out, or eat around the beans in chili you buy.
