Opurity chewable calcium - do you like the taste, or not?

My dietitian feels strongly that I should switch from Bariatric Advantage calcium chewy bites (which may be causing some of my dumping symptoms) to Opurity chewable calcium. On Amazon, 2 reviewers hated the taste, 2 liked it, and 1 thought it was bearable. What has your experience been? I'd hate to buy a package of them only to find that I can't deal with the taste of them.

Thanks,
Jean

I have not tried those, but I did try Calcet creamy bites.  Those are really good and it looks like they have less sugar than the BA ones.  They are also big enough that you can cut them in half.  Maybe if you separate smaller amounts over time they will be more tolerable for you.

i have never tried them but I would definately ask my NUT how much of a kickback she was getting for suggesting them so strongly.

Hey, Jean! Haven't seen you in quite some time. How're you liking your Sleeve?

Is there some reason you can't just swallow regular calcium tablets? That way, there's no taste at all.

I've never been able to easily swallow regular calcium tablets, and I'm extra cautious because I've had a stricture....my anxiety about it is probably making it even harder to swallow...so I'd like to find a chewable tablet that doesn't taste disgusting.

I like my sleeve in that I've lost 15.4 lbs in 6 weeks, but otherwise it's too soon to tell. I'm gradually learning to prevent or deal with the dumping, but the ferocious hunger is a bear.

Hi! I too have trouble swallowing huge pills. No matter what I do I can't get them down. I tried those calcium chew that are suppose to taste like chocolate. Yeah right, they taste like crap. I finally found one, its called caltrate calcium with vitamin d gummy bites. I don't know how old you are but I'm 41 and they remind me of those fruit candies my grandmother use to give us. They looked like pieces if fruit covered with sugar. Do you remember them? That's what they taste like. So it's almost like a special treat now when I take my calcium. I also take the multivitamin gummies. They are made by Vitafusion. They taste good too.

Yes, I remember Gummy Bears (I'm 59). I don't like gummy stuff, but thanks for the suggestion.

Caltrate is calcium carbonate, which RNY folks cannot absorb.  Might as well just eat real candy.

Really??? That's interesting. That tells you how horrible my first surgeon was. I'll have to ask my new surgeon about that. Now that I had to have s gastrectomy I wonder if the same rules apply.
