Things like this is why i never answer the "what did you eat today" posts. I would be tarred and feathered and run out of town. I eat what works for me and usually with my surgeons blessing. If i crave something, I eat it.

Anna, Do you know why 204 people have read your post and only 6 have said anything? The rest of us "experts" are all shaking our heads in disbelief that you are proud of eating a whole cup of something with god knows how many carbs and 11 grams of sugar, calling it a "cheat" and are "gulping" water, at ten days post op. Whoa! Happy you are so happy about it though, and glad you are on the losing side finally and feeling good to boot. Jo

Anna: I am SO jealous of you - I eat anything with more then 5 grams of sugar and I can expect to dump (horribly at that!) And I have yet to eat any pasta that does not make me feel like crap. I have eyed the cans of Spaghetti-o's too...thinking they would work - as I have lots of problems with food and ing...But - scared off by sugar. Keep on eating them if they are not bothering you! And as for the "experts" of this board - *****ally irritate me daily - they are not walking in your shoes - my deep abiding belief is that each person who chooses to have weight lose surgery has to figure out ON THEIR OWN what foods work and don't work for them. 11 Grams of SUGAR!!!! Less than two weeks out. You are right, you ARE cheating. Why would you put yourself into the position to start cheating so early out? I realize that all doctors are different with what they have you eat so early out, but I can't think of any doctor that would say that this was a wise food choice, you should also be looking at the fat grams, salt and CARBS!!! I caution you strongly to really think about your food choices. Yes, we all probably could have eaten a bag of chips before surgery. But we all made the life threatening and changing decision to do something this drastic for our health, our lives. You are cheating, YOURSELF. I hope that you are able to spend some time looking into this sites good resources for proper diet after surgery. Spaghetti-o's shouldn't be a staple food of a Pre-op, let alone a post op. That stuff is full of chemicals and crud. Don't get me wrong, I do cheat once and a while, but we are talking with a bite of something that is bad for me, not a whole serving. I wish you luck in your journey, this surgery rearranges our insides so that our outsides can get healthier, but WE have to do the brain work. At this rate, your happiness over "cheating" on bad food, is going to land you right back in the body you started out with. Michawn LapRNY 8/19/03 270/145/145 At Goal!
