Before surgery I was 325 lbs. My lowest ever was 175. I've gained and am back up to 215. It seems everyone else got down to 125, 130. I never did. Am I the only one?

No, yes, and I doubt it. I'm 4 years out.  I can eat a lot at times. Hunger has come back with a vengeance. I'm hungry all the time again. Still can't eat as much as before surgery though. I'm just wondering if the NORM is get to 125 pounds. Or are there more of us hanging around the 200 mark?

Your family genetics, body type, etc. control the final wt to a large degree. I see 100's of different RNY or sleeve post op at my support groups every year.  Seldom do I remember any large number of RNY or Sleeve post ops that got down that low.  The majority of these patients are also over 5' 6" in height too. I suppose there may be some 5 ft women who get that low.  Your wt loss and some regain wt is a more likely scenario for many post ops.  I've seen some very thin post ops at support groups, but these are people who have either have complications that affected their eating for several months, etc.  I went from 365 to 186 in 24 months. At 6 1/2 years post op, I usually weight 205-212 these days. DAVE

I got on this site to ask that specific question, and found your post! I am 7 years out, weighed 313 and my lowest was 174. Now, back up to 210 and can't lose, but sure can gain! I gained 9 lbs in two weeks and am not binging. Really void use some help. And, no, not exercising-too busy. Went back to school (at age 56!) and working. Would love some help. I want to get rid of extra skin, but would like to lose more weight. Am frustrated.

My surgeon just reset my goal weight to 175 today.  I know with my bone structure I'll never be the 150 he originally wanted.  I'm 5'6".

I'll be satisfied at 175 if I'm healthy and making exercise goals I set for myself.  I can always reevaluate the goal later.
