Which scale to buy?
Hello OH friends,
I have a "biggest loser" scale from Target that I'm pretty sure is totally inaccurate (based on what I weigh here vs. my surgeon's). What scales have you found that ARE accurate? I currently *might* weigh 260, which means I *might* have lost 4 lbs so far on my pre-op diet, but I seriously don't trust this scale and would like to fix the problem before my surgery.
Thanks,
Sarah
This is the one I have http://www.oldwillknottscales.com/my-weigh-xl440.html. Its only $50 and has a 30 YEAR warranty to be accurate and work! Ive had mine for 4 years now and never had a problem. Weights the same as the one at my surgeons office to the pound.
Digital scales are typically far more accurate than the old analog scales. The analog scales have springs in them that "change" over time, unless you have a medical office quality scale. I'd also suggest you check out what batteries may be required. Older digitals need those nickel sized round batteries, usually two, costing near $10 to replace. The digital scale I have usses 2 AA batteries. DAVE

If you'll just throw away your scales, you'll be much happier. Seriously---I see so many new post-ops making themselves crazy. I didn't own any scales, and weighed only at my doctor's office. So---I never experienced a stall, and I never got freaked out because I gained a pound (which WILL happen, from time to time.)
