How much is age a factor?

Oh goodness! I have NO intentions of having a back up! Once I get a WLS surgery..thats it for me! It's up to me to use that tool to my benefit. As I was posting below, I prefer the sleeve for its similarity to our natural mechanics. But I do thank you for your post. I love hearing every side of a choice.

Amanda, there is very little difference if any in weightloss with RNY and VSG's these days, so don't let that be a consideration for you, especially since, the malabsorption with the RNY is temporary (except the need for vitamins).  DS on the other hand is permanent malabsorption.

I am 29, just had mine a few weeks ago and am self employed. Sometimes I work crazy hours but you can squeeze in the food and nutrition you need. I think we are lucky that we can do it so young without having to live with the headache and heartache of being obese in our 20's and 30's.

Hello!!! I was 24 when I had my VSG- 12/5. I turned 25 that 12/24. My friend had RNY at like age 19/20. I think 20. I am doing superb. Friend me if you want to chat- I am here to help =)
