Hey guys...was wondering if anyone has had Acanthosis nigricans, which is a darkening of the skin in certain areas like the neck, armpits, etc.  I was wondering if this went away after weight loss?

I had A.N., as well as other things related to metabolic disorder (PCOS, skin tags, etc). I read the DS had the best chance at resolving metabolic issues, so had my DS surgery 5 years ago.

Within months after my surgery, even though I hadn't yet lost all my excess weight, the A.N. was better, as well as the insulin resistance, PCOS, and even the skin tags were reabsorbing or falling off. All of it has been normal ever since, thank goodness.

OMG--skin tags went away?!? I hadn't heard of that before. I hope mine go!

Can't believe I never ran across the skin tag-hormone-weight relationship!

I had them on my neck slightly and a bad patch on the space between my breasts.  The skin went completely back to normal at the end of week 3.  They just seems to disappear.  Have had no reoccurrence. I did also have a few very small skin tags fall off.

I have the same thing between my breasts. It's not darkened skin tho like my neck it is weird. I am really excited to hear this, thank you so much for responding!
