Well I already went to the Seminar, and sent in my Patient profile and Insurance info to the Bariatric Coordinator. She has my first appointment with Surgeon on March 7th. I called my Insurance they do cover Gastric bypass if you have BMI of 40 or higher and a letter of Medical Necessity, which I already have from my PCP. The same day I go see surgeon they will make my appointments for Psychological evaluation, and Nutritionist, and Lab work. My Insurance doesn't ask for a 3 or 6 Month diet plan, so I am just wondering how long it's gonna take to get my surgery date? They said once they get all info they will have decision made within 7-10 days!! i am so excited, I can't stand it!

They probably won't submit for insurance approval until you've got all of your requirements completed.  Once you're approved, it depends on their schedule.  For me, it was 6 weeks from approval to surgery date.  It worked out well, because I was able to get everything aligned at home and work to prepare for my 8 week absence.

I had 6 month nut classes and all the evaluations. Once I had that done my paperwork was submitted and my insurance approved me in a day.
