I am doing this for 2 days pre-op tomorrow is 3 days pre-op so hoping someone can help me out. How much do i need and mine is a full body.. does that mean face and "personal parts" i can use regular bacterial body wash? So i am assuming too that this is a scrub down in the shower?? So does anyone know after how long do i rinse? Sorry i am clueless i never used this stuff before.

Hibiclens is not for use on face or genital area. What we have patients do and also what Idid before my surgery was Iwashed my face and privates w my reg soap....rinse....then shut off my water and with my hands applied hibiclens.to my abdominal area, sides, all the way up, to the neck. Take your time...then rinse well. Wash your sheets the night before surgery. Hope this helps and good luck!

The point of the hibiclens scrub is to prevent post op infections, I would not substitute.  My surgeon actualliy gave me a bottle at my pre op appointment. The ingredients are not the same as a run of the mill antibacterial soap,  put on clean clothing after shower and I agree with other poster about clean sheets also.

Good thoughts for your surgery day!

As mentioned Hibiclens is a anti microbial antiseptic skin cleanser. It is widely used to prevent post op infections.
