Woke up with a cold and don't know if normal?

I am 6 days post op RNY and woke up with a cold and feeling of something lodged in my throat... i've been trying to cough it up all morning. Not sure if this warrants a phone call to my surgeon? I feel like a PITA because i just talked to her yesterday about something different. I would take mucinex or something but at this point i don't know what i can have and cannot have or what is going on. Anyone else had this problem? My nose is also running.

I got a cold early out RNY.  I was able to take liquid Sudafed or liquid Mucinex.  Be sure to focus on hydration above all else while sick with a cold this early out from RNY.  I felt so icky that I did not drink enough and ended up in the ER getting fluids via an IV.  I made sure to drink, drink, drink after that.  I hope you feel better soon.
