Do yourself a big favor.  You just had weight loss surgery to improve your health.  Stay out of fast food establishments at all costs. The preservatives and chemicals in that stuff should be enough of a turn-off without the chance of some teen spitting in your food.  Go to the grocery store, buy yourself some real food (on the outer aisles) and come home and cook it.  You'll live lots longer and your body will thank you for it.

Healthier and cheaper to make and eat your own at home. I'd recommend using ground turkey because you can season it easier - you have to season turkey burgers or they don't taste like anything.

I still eat at fast food joints, but my visits are limited and I stick to Taco Bell where I can get 1 or 2 small items and be satisfied. I'm four years out and still can't eat a whole burger at one sitting, so I imagine the turkey burger would be out for me, too.

I looked up the ingredients/nutritional info for BK'S turkey burger, and they have "seasoned" it in their own way adding chemicals, salt and sugar taking the calories up to 500+. You'd be better off eating a Whopper Jr.

Hi Laura! I was at the support group meeting last night but didn't have a chance to introduce myself.

I love that you found something like a turkey burger at a fast food/low cost place like BK. If we ever need something while traveling it is good to know we could stop and at least have some protein like ground turkey (minus the bun). We could have that with a small salad and it would be perfect. We need on the go options too!

You are doing a great job! I will be sure to stop and say hi at the next meeting.

Seriously gals, if you're traveling, you need to get used to taking things that are good for you along for the ride.  Invest in a small cooler and little blue ice packs.  You've just re-arranged your guts.  Show them some respect and feed them real food.

i agree, especially so early out.  Wendy's chili is a good choice.

Actually, you're missing the point.  You really need to stay out of fast food joints.  Period.  I think docs tell us that we can have Wendy's Chili  because they know the obese are likely to frequent fast food places.  It's time to get serious about our health.  Going to eat at a fast food place for a weight loss surgery patient is like an alcoholic going to a bar for a glass of water.  Just don't go there -- it's not good for you.  You have no idea what's in that chili.  What kind of meat is in it?  Several people have commented that they either found lots of beans in the chili or only a very few.  What's actually in that stuff?  Make your own.  You'll be much better off.
