Did anyone see this>> BK has turkey burgers now?
I didn't miss any point. Sometimes life happens, and you have to get food outside of home or you skip a meal or two, which is not necessary. It's not reasonable to say you'll never eat outside of again for the next 40 to 60 years. No one is "perfect," no one. This journey is about making better choices.
The docs tell us we can have we days chili because they're human too and they realize sometimes we will leave to go to work and forget our packed lunch on the counter...or sometimes we'll go out shopping with a friend all day and not want to pack 1/4 cup of tuna and a saltine and tell our friend she has to dine alone while we sit out in the car and wait.... Life happens.
Well, I just be unreasonable and inhuman. I have not eaten in a fast food place in over 25 years. I have a GPS in the car and it's just as easy for me to find a grocery store as it is to find a fast food restaurant. Go ahead and eat the stuff. We'll be waiting for you over on the failed surgeries board.

Ok princess perfection, you keep up with the ever so helpful holier than thou posts. You're such an ASSet to this board to all of us who are so unworthy of your presence. Oh and seriously, why are you such a nasty ***** What on earth is wrong in your life? (Rhetorical question, I don't actually care).
I am not trying to be nasty or insulting and I certainly have not called anyone names. I am trying to make an impression that you need to take care of your health with good nutritional food and not eat garbage. That is the whole point here. I actually have a wonderful life. I eat nothing that comes in a package. I'm an old lady and have learned a lot about what happens when you put the wrong stuff in your tank. Wait till you're damn near 60 and you'll wish you'd taken better care of yourself instead of being cavalier about it.

Alcoholics are addicted to alcohol, which is sold in bars. Are you assuming all people that have WLS are addicted to fast food or something that is sold in fast food places? If so, you're mistaken. I do not have an addiction to any type of food (or anything else, for that matter). That is not only my opinion, but the opinion of my therapist and my psychiatrist. So going into a fast food place, for me, is nothing like an alcoholic going into a bar.
Of course, fast food is not healthy, at least most of it isn't. It's something I've never eaten much of. I've been a vegetarian for more than 26 years, and fast food places don't offer a lot of meatless options, so I have never been a big fan of fast food places. But a baked potato or a salad from a fast food place is no less healthy for me than a baked potato I bake myself at home or a salad I put together myself at home.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
It's not really an addiction I'm talking about. It's surrounding yourself with things that aren't good for you. Most of us became obese by making the wrong food choices, along with a host of other problems. I would bet that most of the food in a fast food places is not organic and has probably had other treatments to preserve freshness. You're probably at the pinnacle of GMO foods in a fast food place. I'd say your potato and salad at home stand a huge chance of being a lot healthier for you. You have also most likely never seen a documentary on what happens to your food when handled by some of the workers at these 'restaurants.' I think it's just a safe bet to stay the heck out of there.

The first thing I thought was "EWWW"
The next thing I wondered how much fat they injected to them to make them taste good. Turkey doesn't always equal low fat. Be sure to check nutritional information.

Yeah unfortunately i don't doubt this at all. And the sodium maybe it just looked good because all i am eating is pureed chicken, scrambled eggs, and cottage cheese mostly. Well today i venturned into trying a tablespoon of no sugar added applesauce so far so good. But i do plan to cook all of my meals at home. I LOVE my crockpot. I also bought a bento buddy for when i go back to work especially will come in handy. So what do you all do if your seriously on the go and have no time to cook beforehand. What is your go to items if your "out and about"
On the go, I usually have a protein bar in my purse.
I cannot wait to have a protein bar again! I love the atkins ones i am just hoping it doesn't **** off my pouch i am noticing my pouch is a bit pissy sometimes LOL somedays i can eat more than others. Today i developed sneezing like 4x from eating a popsicle completely a new thing for me. Usually i can eat 6 tbsp the most of pureed food and today i might have gotten to 4.5 tbsp and i was done!
I tried quest bars pre-op blechhhhhhh still love the atkins bars they taste like a treat without all the crap and added protein!! Well depending upon the one you get. Also love my string cheese... nuts kind of scare me at the moment but then again i am probably not even close to the stage i need to be at to eat them yet anyway.
