I carry things like string cheese, jerky, and nuts. I'm a big fan of turkey, but ground turkey sucks unless it's got added fat ground into it---and then what's the point? (*grin*)

Amen!  Good choices for on-the-go food.

They list nutritional info online.  From what I remember, it has only about 100 calories less than the whopper.  BK also has a veggie burger that has much more sensible nutritional value.

I travel for work and it is a challenge to find good sources of protein on the go. Check out any airport and you will notice that your options are limited. I typically grab a banana, a greek yogurt and a large bottle of water for my meal at an airport. When I stay at hotels I try to stay where they have room service or a restaurant where I can order a protein and sides to make the best meal possible. I also bring protein powder, optifast soups (16g protein) and plenty of protein bars. It's not as easy as you think but I am making it work.

On the go food is the tough. If I did not travel it would be easier. When I am not traveling I plan my meals and I wouldn't dream of putting fast food into my body. BUT if I am out of options it is good to know there is something I could grab. The turkey burger sounds good, but nutritionally it is not. I checked the website for the nutrition label. It's high in protein 27g, high in fat 26g and the sodium content was ridiculous at 1210mg. The plain burger is a much better choice at 12g protein and 9g fat and 490mg sodium. Still not ideal, but something to consider.

To me the  vast majority of " ground turkey " aint the breast meat .. its the SKIN .. dyed a pretty pink .  I  personally only buy the 99 % fat free kind which really NEEDS  to be spiced , spiked with ground onions etc ... and then simmered in fat free sauce to be good ... but then its GREAT !

For turkey to be a better option it needs to be fat free.  I make yummy fat free ground turkey taco's that taste better then normal ones and with whole wheat taco shells and fat free cheese, lettuce, tomato and salsa and are super healthy.  When my bf diets this is his go to meal.  This is something you can dream about having in a few weeks and really have it.  Anything BK is putting out has to be crap.

I normally do buy ground turkey 99% fat free or boneless skinless chicken breasts.. turkey burgers too every so often. I don't do fish didn't do it pre-op either all though i don't mind tuna canned once in a while.
