Ice Cream makers.... opinions please

Ok, still looking at ice cream makers.  I have narrowed it down to the Hamilton Beach 1 1/2 qt, Cuisinart or Deni.  Unsure of the sizes of the last two but I think they make 2 quarts.  For small protein ice cream, do any of you use any of these and how do you like it?  Would you recommend it?  Thanks

Okay, I have no real opinion but someone else posted something I thought you may find interesting:

Also here is the "thing" she's talking about on amazon:

Looks pretty intriguing to me!!! MMMMmmmmmmm Ice Cream

EDIT: READ THE AMAZON REVIEWS

They range from 5 to 1 and there's enough 1's, 2's, and 3's to discourage me. The comments range from messy, noisy, PITA, plastic in your food, and various others.

Well I guess if I had continued down in the list of that forum post I would have seen that you already replied! :-)

Thanks, Paul.  I looked at it and it is intriguing but bad reviews.  I am on the fence cuz it sounds wonderful!

I use a regular, four-quart, hand-cranked ice cream freezer I bought at the junk store for $3.00. I feel like once I've cranked it, I deserve it. (*grin*)

God love ya, too much work for this spoiled old lady.  I have an electri**** cream maker which does a great job but it makes like 4 qts .... and it uses ice and rock salt.  No thanks.  Glad you enjoy yours though.

I have protein ice cream everyday.  I make it with lactose free skim milk and sugar free cool whip and a scoop or two of protein powder.  Sometimes I have it two or three times a day with different flavors.  I have a Lello, Jr ice cream maker that is just right for a single serving.  It turns an 8 ounce shake into 16 ounce of ice cream.

It has a built in compressor so nothing to freeze or prepare.  You just pour everything into the pail and turn the switch on and have great ice cream in 20 minutes.  It is ready to go for another flavor right away.  The others require freezing a ring in the freezer before you can use it again.  That would be way to much trouble for me.  I like my instant gratification.  Protein ice cream was a big factor in me reaching and maintaining my goal.

Dove,

Now you are talking my language.  We live in AZ and the temps are already climbing so I am really thinking of ice cream .. sounds delish.  That is just what I want.  It is called a Lello jr?

Thanks, I will check it out.

Put the Lello 470 Gelato Jr in your Amazon cart and save it.  Then wait a few days and see if they send you an email with a reduced price.  It sells for $300 and I have seen them lower it down to $149.
