Premier Protein Shakes
Hello,
I keep seeing the ads for Premier Protein Shakes. Has anyone tried them? Are they good? I'm pre-op and trying to increase my protein and eliminate carbs early. So far, I've been doing well but I bought Boost shakes and I'm pretty sure I have the wrong kind. They are tasty and much better than my trips to the vending machine but I'd prefer to do this the right way.
Thanks!
I was having one a day for my 3 week preop diet and loved them. I have only tried the chocolate though as that is all they have at the Costco in Canada. Make sure they are killer cold...and honestly they taste good. You really can't beat 30 g of protein for 160 cal either.
At Costco up here they come 18 in a case for $24.99.
I'm actually out and now that I am almost 2 weeks post op I can have them again. I'm making a run to the city on Friday to get more! :-)
The Premier shakes are pretty good as long as they are very cold. I've also had the GNC Total Lean Shake which has less protein in it (25 g) but is also very good and low in sugar. I really like the Strawberry flavor and they now have a powder that is Orange Cream it tastes like a creamsicle. For my Pre-op I was told to have 5 GNC total lean shakes daily. How much sugar is in the Boost shake?
Over the past 11+ years I have tried a couple of million different protein drinks..or so it seems, anyway..
As far as the RTD shakes go, I think Premier ranks right up toward the top. I really like the conveience, price-and even the taste (and THAT says alot!). I'm not really a "chocoalte lover (yea-I'm a disgrace to womankind-I don't like shoe shopping either), but chocoalte is the ONLY kind of RTD shakes I like, and Premier and EAS are the only ones I will buy.
I think you will find the Boost shakes have too much sugar and other "stuff" for the money...healthier than Fritos and Snickers, but..well, you know!
Interestingly enough, as much as I like the Premier DRINKS, I really, really DISLIKE the Premiere protein bars...Just sharing an unasked for opinion...lol
