I'm sad about my body
I know the rashes are a pain in the butt, but see your doctor and get them documented.Call or see him every time you get a rash. This will help you make the case that skin removal is medically necessary.
I'm sorry you're feeling bad today. Trust me, you'll feel SO much better after you get the rest of your excess weight off! Before I had my DS, I was practically confined to a wheelchair. Three months after surgery, I could work in my garden for hours!
I had the lab band in July 2009 and did great. I lost close to 60 lbs within the first year so I decided to treat myself with new clothes, but I went to the store and when I tried the clothes on found that I couldn't even go down 1 size because of the excess skin on my lower abdomen. I was so upset and devastated that I gave up and ended up gaining about 40 lbs back after a miscarriage in 2010. After healing my heart from my miscarriage (took about a year) I decided it was time to get back on track and I lost approximatley 20 lbs and in June 2012 found out that I was pregnant again. During my pregnancy I lost about 30 lbs and am pretty much at a plateau now. I have a pretty good size pannus(apron) that having 3 c-sections have not helped. I would like to lose another 50 lbs and am trying to stay on track now. I don't like the way my body looks, but it is the body that God gave me. I have plans in January to have a panniculectomy and am super excited about that, although unfortunately insurance most likely isn't going to cover it.
You will have your days, but in the long run it is all worth it and as the other posters said keep up that documentation and insurance may just well cover your cosmetic surgery when you are ready for it.
Hugs,
Lori
Everyone, thank you so much for your kind words of support. I think it was really what I needed: to hear that everyone goes through this and it's normal. I also think I was having major PMS which was making it worse. I was crying over everything! I will definitely start talking to my doctor about the rashes.
