I will be asking my Doctor on the preop visit but just wondering in advance if anyone did that? I am thinking I could take a great shower and then have someone french braid it for me...then it won't be in the way. Did anyone else do this? or anything similar?

Just don't use any product and you'll be fine (and cute)!

I think it will be uncomfortable to lay on. Just wear it straight. I took a headband with me and wore it the whole time in the hospital. It was wonderful to have my hair out of my face. Good luck to you!

If you do use anything to keep the end of the braid together, make sure there's no metal in it...some of the ponytail holders had a little metal piece on them. Get one that's all fabric. No metal allowed in the OR. Just a little helpful hint!

I've had numeours surgerys and have always done that. Its comfortable out of the way, and stays in place for that 1st day or so when your not up to doing your hair. I have to admit, i have curly hair and took the easy way out this time and cut all short before my surgery next week...now i just wet and go lol Good luck on your big day Giovanna

Thank you and good luck on yours! As a matter of fact, it is scheduled on my Hubbys and my 7th wedding anniversary! How cool!!!!

And with Dr. Clark, too, I see! Good luck, honey. He's a sweetheart and he took very good care of me On the hair, I'd say go with whatever you want, as long as you don't have metal in your holders and you're comfortable laying on it for a long, long time. I think it would be great for afterward, when you're not going to want it in your face and stuff or be up to dealing with it. Especially with all the tubes and wires and junk all over your arms! My hair is too short to pull back,t hough. I just wore a stretchy cloth headband. Christie 468/225/pregnant!

Hi Amy, I French Braided my hair before surgery. It looked nice & was very comfortable. I didn't have to worry about my hair at all, which was a plus. Good Luck & God Bless, Jackie
