Allergic? What do you have? I have been getting hives after being in the sun. I have never has this until this summer. I was told to look up Solar Urticaria. I saw a picture and it's what I got! OMG! Any suggestions? I'm finally like OK -- I think I'll get into a swimsuit and this happens to me? WTH? I'm NOT happy! Anyway, thought you might have some pointers for me!?!?!

Well I had never been given a name for my problem...but my dermatologist, who is one of the best, diagnosed it as a reaction to the sun due to the consumption of aspertame...I had just began drinking diet drinks A LOT back then, because regular pop caused yeast infections for me (all the sugar)...anyhow...I ended up getting really bad sun-poisonning one day because of all this...and since then, I get hives and a rash when I am in the sun. She explained that the aspertame causes the nerves to be affects negatively by the sun All I know is I never lay out in it, that's for sure...my brother having melanoma is enough to convince me not to anyways...but if I do need to spend time in the sun, I am sure to wear sun screen and lots of it...no less than 30 spf either...I usually wear long sleeves though. I'm also prone to heatstroke...sheesh I swear I'm falling apart...between those sun problems, my vertigo...the damage from tearing my carpul ligament...my arthritis... it's a wonder I can move at all Linda 268/142.5 BELOW GOAL! and.....ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi Val~ We had our bbq yesterday, dh has to work today. I stayed inside due to pain, and who wants to watch people eat burgers and dogs while u suck crystal lite. Plans today are my visiting nurse, lots of rest (hopefully), and homework if I can sit up long enough. Did I read right in my post op dilusions that you got a new job? Morning all! We have no plans today ,hubby and the kids were going to camp in the backyard lastnight but the rain canceled that for them oh well there will be plenty of time this summer for that .Hope everyone has a great day! Kristy

Hi Val! Today is a depressing day for me as my cousin was killed in Iraq 2 summers ago. He always wanted to serve our country and said over and over he would be HONORED to die for the sake of FREEDOM. *sigh* He was such a wonderful man. 25 years old ..left a young wife and a 9 month old son. Things were said at his funeral that haven't been said at funerals I have attended for 90 yr old men. So, it really is what you do with the years you have and not the years that you get that matter.
