Member has died.....
Hello everyone. I write this with great sadness and pain as my dear friend Amanda Spencer has passed away suddenly. First let me say IT WAS NOT RELATED TO WLS. She was 2 1/2 years post op and had a seizure. She was airlifted to Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo where they pronounced her dead. An autopsy revealed she had a brain aneurysm.
Here is a little history of how I met Amanda. We both had been on obesityhelp.com and and crossed paths because we had the SAME SURGERY DATE AND SURGEON. So we kept in touch only to find out we lived 30 minutes away and she previously was from a small town near me only 5 miles away. In the end we became great friends and I did daycare for her two children that are survived (Cobey 6 yrs. and Alexis 4 yrs). She had her struggles that past year with an abusive husband and left him for a better life. She was a respiratory therapist at our local hospital and care for my dying grandmother for many years. What a small world huh?
Let this be a reminder to everyone that tomorrow may never come. Take today and make the most of it. I like to think Amanda made the most of her days in her short life (30 years old).
Please sign the guestbook at the funeral home website so that her parents can see what a great group of women and men we have here.
