Topic: RE: A Real Mess 3 Years Out
I really feel bad for you. You thought you were doing something to improve yourself. Then all this nonsense happened. I don't know if I'm out of line, and if I am, please ignore me and what I'm about to say. You might have a malpractice suit on your hands. And, can you have anything reversed?
Topic: A Real Mess 3 Years Out
I had my surgery 3 years ago and have had so many medical problems from it. I developed an Ulcer in March 09 that ruptured and needed immediate surgery. I had a feeding tube put in at that time. I had a stent put in that did allow me to eat but then it was removed. I then had a ballon placed inside to help me eat which failed. The doctor put the stent back in three weeks ago so I am able to eat but the ULCER will not go away as he found that I am producing way too much acid. He wants to go back in and do another surgery at the end of September to remove the stent and also to close off two ducts. This is not the surgeon who did the original gastric bypass, it is his partner whom I love. However, this doctor has never done this type of surgery before and needs "Mr. Wonderful" to assist him. I do not like this idea as I do not want Mr. W. to ever touch me again but I do not know what to do. Has anyone else gone through anything like this before and if so, please let me know the outcome. I know we all need acid in our stomachs to break down the food so if he closes off these 2 ducts - then what? I AM SO SORRY I EVER HAD THIS DARN GASTRIC SURGERY....I have not had one day of happiness only missery in three whole years. HELP!
Topic: RE: Has Anyone Had There Surgery Reversed?
Hi Jackie,
Move over.....if you find someone to reverse your surgery I'd sure like to find someone in PA to reverse mine.
The complications I've had in three years since it had been done are just not worth it.
I have never been able to get food down and keep it down and now I wound up with a ruptured ulcer and just learned that I am producing way too much acid. I have had one surgery after another including a feeding tube.....I am nearly 60 years old and look like an old lady as I lost so much weight I look like a prune.
It's sad, when we want something to help us look good that only winds up making us look horrid!

I did eventually have the surgery also. I'm very pleased to say I'm very glad I made this decision! It gave me my life back. I just have to keep active and watch my diet and I'm doing fine and have had no bad side effects at all!
I love my sleeve =)
Good luck to you and your sister...
GOD bless =)

My sister had the vsg done in April and she is doing really great! no regrets on her part. I am in the process of having this done to, I am very excited about this and cannot wait till this will all be over.

Keep in mind too, that hair loss after pregnancy is really, really common. Apparently, we stop the cycle of hair loss during our pregnancies - and then it returns, with a vengeance, after the baby is born!
Congratulations on your new little one!

Are you serious??? My pcp considered me "healthy" despite being obese. I had sleep apnea, pcos, insulin resistance, high cholesterol, fluctuating blood pressure and degenerating joints.
All of those issues are resolved for me, and I traded a buttload of expensive medications, which I take NONE of now, for multi vitamins and calcium. And my blood work is the envy of my 30ish skinny doctor!!! Get real.

I presume you mean the port has flipped? I found losing 100lbs in a year fast enough for me and you are on track for that. And remember, we can keep on getting fills and losing for as long as we need to.

Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Has your sis tried digestive enzymes yet? They will increase absorption. It's rare to need these, but those who take them do stop losing and even regain some.
