Hi Ron, thank you for your honesty and your post, I visited your profile and you have really been through alot on your journey to be healthy.  I am truly amazed that you were able to post the pictures you did an allow us into your personal journey.  I myself was scheduled to have gastric bypass on 10/20 but came down with an awful cold and had to be rescheduled. I am now scheduled for December 1st.  Along my journey I have experienced an immense amount of fear and all of the what if's seem to sneak up on me, even haunting me at night.  I have a previous history of Pulmonary Embolism for unkown reasons, so this has fueled my fears of having the surgery.  However, I too am in need of a change in myself in order to get healthy.  And, as we all know this is NOT the easy way out.  It is a life long commitment.  Thank You so much for reaching out and making yourself available, you are truly an inspiration.  Although I don't think I have seen the movies you mention above it is nice to have a celebrity that is willing to let us in and share, it seems to help those visions of dreaming more of a reality, afterall you are a person like the rest of us right?  Congradulations on all your weight loss, I wish you the best.

Hoppy you are mean.  What's your point?  Is it weight loss related?

Yes, I can! =)

My BMI is where yours used to be. I just hope I'm able to get down to at least 180, 330 now @  5'7". I just don't want to be disappointed because of being self pay and it's all the money I got! I want the weight gone and I don't want any of it back!

Congrats on your loss (((HUGZ)))

Hi Deb,

I love the VSG. I am 7 months out and I am a revision from having a lapband for 5 years to the sleeve now. the sleeve is so much easier than the band and I am thrilled with my progress. I would never consider the RNY because I dont need malabsorption to get me to goal. I am already at 85% EWL and expect to lose 100% of my excess weight in the next few months. Considering I started with a BMI of 54 and now sit at 28.6 and losing two pounds a week still I am very happy. Can you tell I am happy??

Physician advise on all major surgeries is to have another surgery at minimum six months after any type of major surgery due to your body's ability to heal itself.  It is probable that all the pain & discomfort that you currently feel, most will reoccur after another major stomach surgery.   I just went to my information meeting for bariatric surgery, & the surgeon stated that research shows that 100% of patients regain weight if it is reversed, no matter what type of bariatric surgery was being reversed.  It sounds like that's not your major issue - that you simply regret it, but I thought I would bring it up.  I hope that you'll feel better soon.

Hi Bill
I don't know if you still come on this website. I have written you before. I now weigh 102 pounds I look like dead lady walking. My teeth are all rotting out. I just OD. was in a coma and lost much of my memory. They said I was dead twice. Hopefully we both can get the help we need. Good Luck. blkcloud38

Hi Ron,

I have heard of you, like many others.  Your story is definitely inspirational.  I am glad to know that you are apart of OH.

I'm sorry that it's much harder to find work now that you are not the "fat guy".  You would think that it would be a plus.  But I'm glad you had this surgery and are healthier.  Just keep doing what you enjoy and it will all work out.

Topic: RE: Just Starting The Feeling Of Regrets
There are some newer anti-depressants that don't cause weight gain on the market such as Welbutrin or Lexipro or Cymbalta.  I know someone who takes Xanax and it has helped a  great for her anxiety but try not to take it too often.  She says that sometimes knowing that you have one in your pocket or purse if you need it is enough.  I would also really try to find someone to talk with regularly about your feelings you've been through a lot and deserve some help.  Good luck
