Happy New Year everyone!

Just a reminder of this week's support group options:

AZ Grads of WLS:  Meets the  1st Tuesday of every month (tomorrow the 5th)
5:30 pm at Phoenix St Luke's in the room to the left of the large Bridges Education room.
This is peer facilitated (by my handsome hubby) and is open to EVERYONE who is 6 months or more post-op from any program or surgeon and with any type of procedure.

General Support for Phoenix St Luke's begins immediately after at 6:30 pm.  EVERONE is welcome from all surgeons/all programs, any procedure.  It is pysch facilitated and is always a large group of excited newbies with a few wise old timers!

Banner Gateway at 6:00 pm is also open to EVERYONE from any surgeon/any program and with any procedure.  It is just south of the 60 on Higley.  They meet in the conference room just past the cafeteria.  This group is facilitated by their very knowledgeable and entertaining Nutritionist:  Donna!

Why go it alone?  Strangers are just great friends that you haven't met yet!  Join a support group and give yourself the best cir****tances for success in 2010!!!

I am on the state Medicaid insurance too here in Arizona. I thought it would be a quick process, but I was wrong. I don't want to discourage you in any way. I started the whole process Dec of 2008 and I finally am scheduled for surgery this month on the 18th. It is a total runaround from the insurance. Just when I thought I had done enough, they would notify my PCP that there was more to do. I too have high blood pressure and almost everything they list on the co-morbid list that would qualify me for surgery. But that still didn't matter to them.  I wish you get though the process a lot faster than I did. Which surgeon are you going to for the seminar? I am just wondering. I wish you well and I will pray for a fast surgery date for you.

Well I'm truly in the beginnig of the process. I have to attend a seminar on January the 8th. Then it's off to get my referral from my PCP and to the surgeon. Hopefully they wont have me take to many test. I had an ecko and mri earlier this year. My pregnancy was rough and my blood pressure was really high. I figure 2 months tops. Being prayerful and always hopeful. How are you feeling?
