Wendy Jo, So sorry to hear of your loss!! Teflon is deadly to birds. I threw all of mine away and bought stainless steel pots and pans. I don't want to take any chances. Leslie

Topic: Teflon gases is fatal to bird's!! Mine died!!!!
Beware everyone that own's a bird. Christmas eve I came home and my father-in-law was boiling some water in a t-fal teflon coated pot and the water dried up. I came in and found three sick birds with respirtory problem;s and too weak to balance themself to perch. It being christmas eve, I finally found a vet to see me. Two bird's ( a blue and gold macaw and a ****atiel) did not make it. The vet said that teflon at a high heat produces a gas that is toxic to bird's. They are more sensitive than we are. So everyone please, Be very careful with pot's and pan's around bird's. Wendy Jo

See if any of the pet shops will buy them or take them off your hands. I would try and get the males in one cage and females in another or you'll end up with your own pet shop Donna

WOW!! You have a little zoo there I used to have two parrots and everyone would dump their parakeets on my front door step. That's when I lived in Anchorage, AK. I have one white front male Amazon and I would love more parrots but my husband says NO as he has asthma. I'm also not sure how Alex would take another bird as he is Mommy's boy. Donna

Topic: Blue crowned conure
Hello, Due to downsizing and a small apartment I regretfully must find a home for my 3 year old blue crowned conure, Oliver. If you don't know what this type of bird is he is a predominately green bird with a bluish head and a long tail. With tail, he is about 12 inches long. He comes with an Island, Fiji model cage with playpen top, lots of toys, cage cleaner and food. Altogether it is over $1000.00 of items. I am willing to take a best offer for him. My primary concern is that he gets a good and loving home. You must be able to pick him up from Worcester, MA and his cage weighs about 100 lbs. Oliver is very tame with me, talks a little, but he doesn't like my husband. It's pretty common for birds to pick out one person they don't like. I can hold him on his back and rub his belly. I'm pretty desperate to find him a home where he'll get lots of attention. I also will give you several books about conures. You can e-mail me at [email protected].

Topic: RE: "Colorado Mockingbird"? Stubborn and won't sing?
Kelley - great question! "Colorado Mockingbird" is old cowboy slang for burro or donkey. And getting a donkey to do anything would be difficult! ~KB

Topic: RE: I'm owned by 2 ekkies and I'm new here too
It's really unfortunate that this board isn't used more...I am owned by four birds...My Senegal Sofie (3.5 years?); my white-bellied caique Squiggy(1.5 years); my husband's Congo African Toby (1.5 years) and lastly, my Umbrella ****atoo, Abigail (about 3 years). I'd get rid of my husband before I ditched my babies... dee
