Hello,

I am wondering if anyone on this forum has had the vertical sleeve. I had it done on Dec. 22, 2008 (19 days ago) and have lost 20lbs. I started a new stage of the diet 4 days ago and haven't lost anything since, wondering if this is normal? Should I contact the Dr.?

How much have you lost so far?  Did you follow the diet accurately? I skipped the pureed diet phase, I hope it doesn't cause problems. I am still having trouble eating and drinking. Food takes a while to go down and I can't seem to get use to drinking 64oz of liquids. Do you have any suggestions?

I have lost about 50 pounds,  however my bmi was 36ish..........

Your new (tiny) tummy is still in the healing stages.  It takes  about 4 to 8 weeks to heal.   That is why it takes time to eat and drink at your current stage.

You will be fine sweetie.  :)

I've been sleeved.  I'm in a stall this week.  I had surgery November 4th.  There is a typical 3rd week stall with VSG for some reason.  I stalled during the same time period and then the scale started moving again.  Make sure you are getting in your required protein level and water.

I am 7.5 months out and down about 85 pounds... Yes, I have stalled several times and lost significantly in some weeks too.  Over Thanksgiving, I lost 9 pds.  The further out, you can actually eat more.  I was nauseated when I first started eating food - but I was not hungry.  Just don't overeat, it will make you sick.  I think I started to really to tolerate eating food with no issues about 5 months out.  By then I got used to it.  Also, in the beginning some foods you may not be able to tolerate that you can do it later on.
