Am I messing up?

I am 5 wks out and can eat dang-near anything.  Approximately 2-3 hrs later, I'm ready to eat again.  With the band, I could go all day without eating and only experience that I-need-to-eat breath.

I seem to consume more than the average RNYer and wonder if I'm stretching my new pouch.  I must admit that the weight is coming off - or atleast it seems (trying not o climb on the scale except for dr's appointments).
My sister and co-worker, boh who had gastric bypass, are amazed at how much I can eat.  I was even able to eat a thin slice of homemade poundcake this weekend without dumping - something I've feared since surgery.  I'm afraid that with so much freedom, I may not reach my goal or worst yet, regain extra weight!

Dang Ro, say how u feel, lol.

Sista Thickbone...if you ever want to change that nick-name Ima need you to stop the experimentin.  You, young lady seem to be one of those testers...the ones that have to put to test everything someone tells you, well keep that up and you will be heading for surgery #3 and I can tell you it gets worse with each one.

Measure your food and eat what you are told and by all means, back da funk away from the damn poundcake!!!!!!!!!

I feel like the others above, you are only 5 weeks out with a revision and you are already eating pound cake????  and you are eating almost anything??  at five weeks out, i was on soft fish and deli meat.  I, like Rhonda, followed my docs orders to the letter.  I think you are setting yourself up to fail...you only have as much freedom as you give yourself.  You are supposed to only be able to eat a cup or less of food in one sitting.  ONLY eat that and NO MORE....do you really have to ask..."ARE YOU MESSING UP?"  My answer to that question for you is YES!!!

Have you ever thought that maybe it didn't work the first time because you may have sabotaged it?

STOP TESTING THE WATERS!

Now, taking a chance on some things to see how well they're tolerated is one thing (i.e. different types of protein), but there is NO REASON you should be even THINKING about cake, let alone eating it!

NEWSFLASH:  NOT EVERY RNYer DUMPS!  Thank God, I do!  I need the accountability and actually feared that I might be one of those who don't dump.  Again, thank God I do.

Tread lightly Sis... please don't mess up this 2nd chance you've been given.

I'm only 6wks out but I can eat more now than when I was just out.  Especially if its soft foods like malt o meal.  I can eat most all of my scrambled egg and most of a chicken leg.  Your post doesn't give me an idea of how much you are eating.  I brought these glad 1/2 cup containers so I have an idea of how much I am eating.  Have you tried measuring out your food.
You're brave to even chance pound cake.  I dumped once by mixing some real sugar hot cocoa( a tbsp) with some protein.  Man dumpsville USA.  I thought that since it was such a little amount I would be cool, so not the case.  And combined with the lactose from the protein, I thought I was gonna die( or really wish I did).
We all have food choices to make.  I say if you have to ask should I eat this or can I eat that, then the answer is probably no.  But the choice is always yours.

Good luck
