The biggest loser
Hey all,
I tuned in last night to the biggest loser to get some inspiration from the show...only to watch this show and be real disgusted for several reasons....
#1 - I was saddended that the silver team was sent home...and I understand why. But it would have been nice to keep them on the show to encourage people like Joelle who was struggling with losing no matter what they did. I wondered if she had some type of medical condition preventing her from losing. I was also sad to see that her and Carla stopped being friends.
Also.....
#2 - How realistic is it for these people to lose 7-12 lbs a week ???
We are not talking super morbidly obese people either. One woman was like 230 and I was shocked. They say the average weightloss is 1-2 lbs a week. I know on a good week, I have lost as much as about 5....but regularly....NEVER ! ???
I know that men lose considerably faster due to the muscle mass and that they are working out basically all day while on the ranch....but dont they have to eat just as much to keep up the energy to do that amount of exercise ??? Eating less, and working them out as hard as they do is surely a hazzard.
One lady who was like 350 starting weight had basically lost 55 lbs in 5 weeks and that seems impossible. I know folks who had the surgery who didnt do that.
Are they giving them appetite suppressants (sp) just feeding them birdseed...
What do ya'll think -for real !
these mofos are sequestered and working out DEDICATED for HOURS EVERY day..... regular mofos gotta work to pay bills **** around with kids and **** - even **** a spouse - so time ain't available like that
THEN they got all the GOOD food choices and **** available. So basically you are doing the Castaway - just without Wilson..... and you would lose quick too.
I stopped watching the show and REFUSE to follow it anymore cause it DOES put a bullshiot possiblity in the minds of many - it ain't real and them mofos have reportedly indulged in water pills and other quick fix **** for them weigh ins in order to WIN- not a damn thing about their HEALTH.....
I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions! I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

When The Biggest Looser first started a few years ago I think that it was a little more realistic. Although I haven'****ched this season as yet ( I DVR'd them). As far as last season I noticed that women were pulling numbers like the men WTH

I'm really starting to believe that they are giving the contestants something to sustain them. That's why they consistently regain a large portion of the weight back after the show.
To think that at one point The Biggest Looser made me feel bad about not being able to loose weight like they do on the show.
From experience It's worse to have lost weight then regain it than it is to have never lost weight before.
Hugga, who you telling ???
Since when have women ever lost as much or as fast as men.
That show is definately unrealistic.
I even think that Bob the trainer looks terrible. I could see his skull on last night's episode.
Watch the tape and tell me if Im exaggerating here....That man looks like he may have a touch of anorexia or something.
I used to consider going on the show.....you know to be able to lose the weight and get a cool makeover and what not......but not if you trying to kill me.

I heard once they exercise with that crazy intensity 8 hrs per day. Yes I'm sure they are eating more to account for all that hard work. I know that back when I did WW I consistently lost 5-7 lbs per week many weeks. While I love the show I think it sets people up for unrealistc expectations.
I wonder if Joelle did that to get off the show, maybe she preferred to be out the spotlight.

Cause they both lost on their own and looked very nice.

So sad that they stopped being friends.....and that was on Joelle as well.
You see how she walked off the show........thats one cold female.

Carla is gonna be alright anyway. I probably won****ch the show much......but I will tune into the finale.

As far as the reality part of that reality show -- like everyone has commented they spend 8 hours a day (most likely) in the Gym. The gym is there job -- where as the rest of us have to work. They also have access to a NUT, psychologist, so on and so forth. They honestly are set up for massive sucess. However, there are some biggest loosers who have gained back most if not all of their weight. There was an Oprah on late last year about it -- and I applauded her for bringin on the couple (the guy was the biggest looser on that season -- and he married the woman who lost the most) who both gained back weight. What I loved most is that they told it for real -- they mentioned that real life does not allow you to work out like you are on the ranch. They got married, had kids -- life caught up. I think thats important for folks to see -- how the people really end up. I've always hated BL for several reasons (#1 on the list people comparing your lack of sucess to the BL sucess) but one is because I don't think it teaches the contestants how to really loose and maintain their weight.
