He said, "Let me say this as plainly as I can..."

Our president is speaking live...we are pulling out of Iraq...by August, 2010!!!

I am so thankful to God that He has anointed and appointed such a wonderful human being to focus on human rights...care for our elderly, children and the least of them.  And, TO GET OUR SONS/DAUGHTERS/MOTHERS/FATHERS OUT OF IRAQ!

He is also speaking of increasing the salaries of the soldiers, providing longer-term full health care to them...in other words - bringing DIGNITY to them for their sacrificial service to this country.

He is also speaking about a couple of soldiers from Camp LeJeune who joined the military and lost their lives in this senseless war.

God bless our President!!!

good afternoon, D².

He is, indeed, making bold moves.  Not just where Iraq is concerned, but the huge risk he's taking where the economy is concerned.

yes, I agree he is making ALOT of bold moves....I think some are good moves and i'm still not sure about the economic moves just yet. I don't think some of these states are fiscally responsible to make the right moves that will sustain the stimulus that we need. For example in my state they talking about making putting it into roads that lead to no where. They need to at least put the roads to places where companies would possibly relocate making it a better look for a company to come and even in schools. I hope they get it figured out....

Unfortunately, Nate, because we live in a Republic, as opposed to a Socialistic society, we do run the risk of fiscal irresponsibilty on a state by state basis.

It amazes me,also, that people are busting a blood vessel over the mere mention of nationalizing the banking system.  I am neither opposed or for the nationalization.  However, to believe that these same Captains of Industry that showed in many cases in the years leading to this crap bad judgement and greed, are capable of policing themselves and cleaning this up is crazy.

I'm not against a nationalized banking system but to be honest I'm not 100% sure on exactly the pros and cons of it either. I'm looking forward to knowing more about the good and the bad. However something needs to be done b/c the last clowns messed it up.....

Actually, it dates back to the first Bush Errror, uh, I mean Era.  Clinton never had a chance to really do too much about it, it seems, because they'd been on his arse from the beginning with everything from Whitewater to Monica L.

Crazy.

Yes, yes, yes this is a great blessing to our family. We have gone through 2 deployments to Iraq and PCSing(moving to next duty station) so that we dont have to go through another. There are so many marriages destroyed and divorces in the Army community because of our soldiers deploying every other year. It really puts stress on the families. Thank you Lord for answering my prayers.

That is good news for so many reasons. Although my daughter has been accepted into a few Universities, she said this week that she is leaning toward taking the full ROTC scholoarship because they pay for everything and she will get a stipend every month. She is the #1 recruit this year even with her health issues and they are waiving her health issues. She will have to give 4 yrs to the military and 4 yrs. to the reserves.
