HOW DID YOU FEEL WHEN YOU WOKE UP AFTER SURGERY

Like Sexy Yaya I woke up in hella pain.  I was still groggy but in a lot of pain.  I remember the nurse ordering dilaudid because the morphine wasn't doing jack.  I was in Lala land after that for a few hours.  I didn't shake that weird hazy feeling until a few days after I got home.

During my post op appointment the surgeon told me that I had a bad reaction to the surgery .  Whatever the hell that means.

I had open RNY.  I felt like I had been hit by a truck.  Very stiff.  Very sore.  And it hurt to breathe too deeply... much more so than I expected.  Like most folks here, I leaned pretty heavily on my morphine drip.  Child, I would time my naps around that pump.  Nap for 14 minutes, wake up to take a hit at 15.  Repeat.  But, I found that I felt worlds better with each passing day.  I was released on the 2nd day after surgery with no complications.

Good luck to you.

Much like everyone else here, I woke up in TERRIBLE PAIN?  I cussed myself and asked why did I do this to myself?  I said I wish I woulda just stayed FAT.  I hated it all...
I had open RNY.
But it does get better.  For me, it took a week afte rthe gas pain passed...
For others, it's shorter.  All in your pain tolerance of which, I HAVE NONE!

Good luck to you!

I forgot that part!  I even said that after getting home!

Thank God I finally started feeling better and glad I had done it!

I had lap RNY; and I felt so sore and in so much pain.  I have very low tolerance for pain anyway.  I didn't fully wake up until that evening or the early morning of the next day; but that pain pump is your best friend.

I had Lap RNY and to honest I felt GREAT because I was alive...Not to scare anyone but I thought that when I saw my family right before surgery I thought it would be my last time...So when I woke up I felt blesses and the first thing I asked before falling back to sleep was whether my procedure was Open or Lap (they were not sure)...When the nurse said Lap I just fell back to sleep with a smile on my face...I was in a lot of pain though.
