My Biggest Fear...

Is that I won't lose any more weight!  I weighed today and I've lost 41 lbs (20 since surgery, 40 since Jan)!  I was so excited and my mind immediately went crazy!  So many times I've lost 30/40 pounds and that was it because I slowly stopped dieting.  I know it's a mind thing, but I couldn't help it this morning!

Yesterday was my two weeks and I have my post op appt tomorrow.  I am supposed to start soft /mushies (eggs, beans, chicken fish, etc) and I am SCARED to death thinking the first thing I eat will make me gain weight.  Some friends invited me to Buffalo Wild Wings tonight and I do want to go to hang out.  I was thinking I may even have two wings dings without sauce (cuz I don''t think grouchy pouchy can handle anything more) since I haven't been getting my protein in cuz liquids have been making me sick.  I couldn't even eat a whole yogurt with beneprotein yesterday which I had been doing.  But then I'm like those two lil wing dings can make me gain a bunch of pounds!!!

Thoughts, advice, etc

I don't know Buffalo WW wings are fried. (I am only post op) but  I will pose this question do you think you may dump on the grease. I have a friend who can't tolerate fried foods to well. If they are your friends can they pick another restaurant with healthier food options for you. Just a thought...

i dont think the wings will make u gain weight...expecially if its sauceless (hence the atkins diet) but be very careful. You don want to get sck. maybe you can see if BW3 offers something like mashed potatoes or something simple. If not i would take me some applesauce or something to eat with the girls.

A reply on another forum reminded me of the skin so I  won't even have that.  My second fear is getting SICK!  If i choose something it will be a piece of grilled chicken that comes on a salad (without the salad).  I may just have some water and some jokes.  I haven't even been hungry since surgery...I've been getting in what I can in attempts to get my protein!

I wasn't worried about that because a friend of mine ordered some for the superbowl game and he requested for them not to be fried.  Trust me, I can't eat yogurt so I def won't be doing anything fried, greasy, with sauce, etc.

I have decided that I am going to go out with my girls for a lil bit...I need some me time!  At best I'll have some soup, at worst naked tenders.  Food is not my ruler and I haven't been hungry since surgery so I may just have water and gum!

Congratulations.
The wings won't make you gain weight.  But be careful.  Some people dump on grease.  I don't, I just don't like the taste of grease anymore so fried foods are out for me.  The only way for you to know if a food makes you sick, is to take a bite and wait a few minutes.  Thats what I do with new foods.  In the beginning I had a real grouchy pouch.  The farther out I get, the less grouchy it gets and some days are better than others.
I hope you have fun with your friends.

I lost 65 pounds before surgery. It is not uncommon for all of us to have the fear that we will eat our way through our wls. Pray about your fear and let God deliver you from it. Also getting some form of counseling or support group can assist you through the tough times. WLS is not easy. I am still new at it myself, but everyone shares the same fear.
