Are you wrong if you don't try to hit your goal weight?

Thanks, man.  I went googling and found webmd had a calculation thingee - I did that and it said that my weight is within limits and according to my pants size - I AM healthy!!!!

Now THAT'S what's up!  The overall assessment said I need to focus on maintaining healthy habits and exercise.  Very cool.  Thank you VERY much for suggesting a calculator that takes other things than height and weight into consideration - that was the breath of fresh air I needed - to know that I have accomplished something - if I want to do more, it will come - like you said - but if not...... that's aiight too..........

What a great question. I did make it to my goal wt. I think that if you did your best and feel good about yourself then you are a success. Even if you gained a little back. Perfit  BMI doesn't  mean perfect wt. So  U can stay over wt and B  A success.  So many people don't have the co morbities that they had before ie high blood pressure, high blood sugars and sleep apnea.

I'm struggling with this right now #1 MM. My surgeon set my goal weight at 180 and I'm at 195 right now and my hubby told me that I look like I'm from somewhere in Africa and that he sees my spine and ribs sticking out. My son is scared to hug me because he thinks I might break and both of my kids said I looked bobbleheadish the other day. I wanted to get to 180 because at the seminar before wls they tell you that most patients gain 20-25 lbs back so if I get that thin and I gain some weight, I'll be at 200. I know 180 is thin for my height, I weighed that in 7th grade and then I was only 6'1 and now I'm 2" taller.  I got into a size 12 pr of jeans today and that is a great feeling but I don't want to look sick but sexy.

I think we should have a goal but a realistic one. I also think that our bodies will settle with the appropriate weight for us but some of us will never be comfortable with our weight until we know that we've done all that we could do.

congrats on your 12 girl!!!  I knew a girl that was over 6'' - she got down to a 6 and *I* personally started some crack rumors!!!!  LMAO (don't worry - I told her to her FACE)

If I had about 3 more inches of height - my current weight would be PERFECT!!!!!  LMAOOOOOO

Good question Trina.

I'm not really sure how I feel about this question, while I have a goal weight listed on my page my 'true' goal is to be a size 12 or smaller.  I'm not sure exactly what weight that will be since I haven't been there since Jr high.  Now while I am willing to beg, borrow, and steal to get to my dream size I really couldn't care less about what the weight charts categorize me as.

I was one of those lucky few with no co morbidities and my whole goal with WLS wasn't to be a certain weight but to prevent some of the negative health aspects that are a part of my family's health history.

or smaller.......

see - that's the part that's kicking me in the azz.  I went to 8/10 and bounced back up to 10/12 - but had decided I wanted to go to 6!!!  Getting smaller is like crack - you want more and more and more and more and more!!!!!

MM,

I can't give any advice since I'm still working to get to goal.

BUT

You've done an awesome job. Your weight loss is close to 200lbs - that's a MAJOR goal.

Go out and buy a size six something. Take pictures of it and plaster it all over the place....EVERYTHING is possible.

Actually - buying a size 6 something would be counter productive to me.  I know you meant for it to be a motivator - but for me - it would be a testiment to what I have not accomplished.

I have a jacked up point of view - thank my moms for some of that - so things don't 'click' in my head like they do for most people.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion tho!
