i'll be off work for 6 weeks following surgery.  i've never spent that much time not working in my adult life.

what did y'all do to pass the time?  most  of the people you know are at work all day so its just you by your lonesome.  what did you do?

i'm looking forward to reading alot and downloading alotta stuff off the net.  of course i'll do my walking and then increase the working out as i get further out.

what did y'all do post-op while you were out of work?

For the first 3 weeks I was at home taking care of a 5yr old.  I was exhausted and grumpy.  Finally he went back to school and I sleep all day long.  I took off 4 wksd but with holidays and everything it was actually 5.

or  and lots of TV.  After the 2nd week or so, I started going to Walmart or the mall and walking.

Oh, I also bought me a paper shredder and went through all the boxes and boxes of "stuff" I had stored up and organized my file cabinets.

Well I only took a week off, but then again I work from home sitting at a computer desk answering the phone (dont buy an extended plan from Home Depot, i dont wanna talk to you when your weedwacker breaks down!! lol) So I was working, The week i was off, I was sleeping and my momma and boyfriend were here, so i hung out with them till the babies got home. I had just moved into my new apartment two days before the surgery, so I watched my momma unpack and move me in! And the boyfriend was the comic relief, had me laughing and holding my tummy the entire time! Lol!! Good luck darling!!

I'm planning on catching up on some TV time.  I'm getting all 6 seasons of The Shield to watch.  Also need to do my taxes.  That should take up my two weeks.

The first week we occupied the couches. I came home with a catheter and I was tied to that bag for a week. I did some reading and worked on some of my manuscripts. The next few weeks we started our workout with the personal trainer and that kept us busy.

Im still off and I have been doing too much.  the first week, I just laid around the house with limited movement. once the staples came out, I was able to move around a bit more  driving, shopping, cooking, hehe and showering more regularly. now I am just relaxing cause I am going back to work in two weeks and do not want to wear myself out.
I pray to always remember newbies

JUST RELAX AND ENJOY THE TIME OFF. I was only off for 2 1/2 weeks so I spent alot of time sleeping and by week 2 I was in the park 2-3 times per day walking 2 miles each time. I just pinned my drain to my clothes and went walking. I did watch some TV but would get sleepy sitting there.

Plan some trips to the movies
Catch up on reading
organize a room in the house
Take time to eat lunch with your kids at school or visit wtih their teachers
do something special around the house each day for your significant other
walk around the neighborhood
go to the mall
catch up on tv shows
scrapbook (oh yeah, I tried that too but too much sitting in uncomfortable chair)
Chat on BAF all day
surf the web
learn a new skill and or hobby
Take an online class
take a cruise or go visit relatives (since you are already off)
Start a blog
JUST CHILL.
