I LOVE long hair...

My hair has ALWAYS been thick and lenghty...Thus far no problems with losing hair (knock on wood)...Just the usual minor shedding I had prior to WLS...Nothing to be to concerned about... I had my hair "trimmed" and it grows back fast but I am ready for a sewn in w/ REMY GODDESS...

PLEASE ADVISE:

I have NEVER had a full weave only pieces and that is once in a blue. I am all for it because I am going through this "image change" and I am loving it...I feel that I NEED the weave or rather want it badly and my man is fine with it.

MY QUESTIONS:

I love wearing my hair out so that I can monitor it (because of the surgery)...But my BFF thinks it would be "safer" with the sewn in because I do not have to apply heat to it or bother with it... I just have this feeling that if I get a sewn in and take it out 6-8 weeks later (washi and curl in bewteen)...I am going to have NO HAIR LEFT...Before I make my appt can anyone share their experiences with me

FYI:

I am almost 4 months out!

*I* would avoid any undue stress on the hair until I was further out.  I didn't lose any hair for the first 7 months.

Good Morning Ms. Lady,

I have always had long hair and about 3 years ago it started to thin out (due to relaxers).  I am now 9 months out and about 2-3 months ago I started losing my hair........girl I tell you.  I am hoping and praying that I do not lose anymore.  My husband has been making jokes and I am ready to be in tears.  Good luck.......have you started taking the Biotin?  I hear that helps.  I have never had a weave either.  You might want to wait a little longer and not add any stress on the hair.  fyi....I saw your pictures and you have gorgeous hair!!!

personally, I don't think you should weave it.  Just wait and see what happens, you could be lucky and not have  hair issues at all.  Now please expound on Remi hair cause I've been looking at it and see it at all different prices and I don't know what to get.  Is it really seriously all that?  I've never had a sew in at all and I'm kind of hesitant to go all out.

It is never too late to be what you might have been

Hey QT..I only want a sewn in because of the look, nothing to do with surgery, but because of my surgery I like to monitor my hair which has been holding up...I was wondering whether the braids would do anything to my hair?...I might wait I was trying to find out from on BAF if people had their OWN hair braided after surgery (no extensions) and have had no problems...

Now on the Remi- My BFF loves it but now she has ordered this hair from online which cost about $450 and it has been lasting her for 3 months and counting...It is not that serious for me... I have heard good things about Remy Goddess, Velvet, and Model Model...Thair alone will cost me almost $200 so I am making sure it is a good investment...

I would hate to throw a weave in and then take it out and my hair is suffering underneath. It is so confusing but this is an important decision for me.

Sewn-in weaves if not properly installed WILL cause hair loss.  If you would like to try different styles wigs work well to achieve different looks.   Depending upon the style that you are looking for, that really determines the need for which type of hair.  What I find that most people say about "bad hair (weave)" is self-inflicted....the use of the wrong products, product build-up that cause the hair to tangle.  MOST Remy/Remi hair has been processed to resemble a certain pattern.  You really never know the full true quality of extensions until they are washed therefore it is imperative that the hair be washed and conditioned before an install is done.  This also ensures that excess hair dye/fabric dyes are rinsed fromthe hair.  I could write a book about hair and still have more left to tell.........lol
The question that I am asked most often:
 Is that your hair??????

Thanks...I love your sig...Nowadays natural hair, meaning just your hair is kind of in but long weaves are making a comeback..A few years ago people used to ALWAYS ask me "What kind of hair is that in your hair"...lol...But it was my hair. I might wait or just talk to the stylist...I know a hairdresser that had RNY I might talk to her.
