Your Surgeon should have provided a goal for your overall weight loss. During the Honeymoon phase you will drop some weight regardless of what you do due to the few calories that we are able to take in. The mistake many make is getting comfortable with that and never making the effort to eat healthier and exercise. Those people will find that depending on their starting size they will 1) never make goal and/or 2) start regaining the weight quickly after the first year.
During the first year it is truly not good to attach yourself to the scale as it is a very frustrating process in which you will experience many fluctuations in loss and plateaus. It is far more important to concentrate on making the lifestyle change necessary to get the best results from your surgery and maintain your weight loss.
Set mini goals to keep you motivated such as drops in clothing sizes or getting under 200 pounds. JMO
Goals can be set, but there is no way to predict how much weight will be lost. During the honeymoon phase, you are still early out and your body is adapting to all the changes that have happened in such a short period of time. There will be some weeks that a lot of weight will be lost in a week, then the next, you may only loose inches and no pounds. Your body has to play catch up, so the WL will vary greatly during this time.
You will drop weight naturally, but following your Nut and doctor's orders will optimize the WL.
My best to you on your journey!
