Hi Nikkemo!

Guuuurrrl I am with you when it comes to the cruise! I want to go so badly but i just know that I can't swallow all tha****er. I have hard enough time getting my 64 oz in! I hear that its a wonderful thing though. Like being in a small world of its own.  One of these days I would not mind getting on that Tom Joyner cruise. At least if something happens, heaven forbid, we can all go down singing some of those ole negro spirituals unlike on the Titanic....only thing a bass or a violin could do for me in that instance is serve as a flotation device. Lets pray hard for God to conquer that fear...so it can happen one day.  Maybe you want to start small and take one of those overnight  Cruises to NoWhere.  I have been thinking about that too. They have some that leave out of New York City.  Perhaps some professional cruiser out there in BAF land can gives us a little more info on cruising to help alay concerns.  The funny thing about me...I don't have a fear of flying over water....go figure.

On the European travel tip. If you ever do decide to do Paris and Madrid...think about taking the Eurail (their version of Amtrak) from Point A to B.  I did it from Paris to Rome and had a blast.  Of course, I was three sheets to the wind by the time I got to Rome but it was a wonderful time.... was able to mingle with people from all over the world...very nice.

You have a wonderful list!!!!!!! Lets make some of it happen.

I hate flying over water too, I hate bridges too and I'm a great swimmer.  Just something about the large bodies of water that scares me.  Even at the beach, I'm afraid to let my son go in the water and get his feet wet.

Well, just know that its a very common fear and you are not alone with it. I love to swim but have always had a fear of the drains at the bottom of the pools.  I know how it originated (childhood incident).  Also movies like Jaws and real life incidents like Shark attacks & Katrina, only make the fears more real.  I guess we just need to let ourselves experience the feared object a little at a time (desensitization) over time.  At least this is what I have tried to do with drains. I now have no problem walking over them in pools.  Hopefully, I will be able to do a cruise to nowhere and get a feel for it.  I mean maybe I won't like cruising for other reasons....who knows. I wish you the best with your list.
