Found Money, What would you do?

I know  black folk  who pray for situations like this. What would you do in this case:

LOS ANGELES – As she walked from a post office, Talon Curtis thought she'd found one of those gimmicky sweepstakes offers on the ground that scream something like "$357,959.55" in big bold letters and "This is not a real check" in much smaller type. But just as she was about to do her part for a cleaner planet and deliver the paper from the parking lot to a trash can, she noticed it was a real cashier's check with a real signature.

Curtis said she never thought of keeping the check for herself, and she declined the woman's offer of a reward. "I just wanted to let her know that there are honest people left in this world."

Would you regard it as being dishonest if the instrument was signed and had no recipient name typed in?
As for me,  I'd see it as a blessing, give God his 10% and keep on stepping.

ETA: From now on, I gonna be one trash picking up negro.  I'm picking up every scrap of paper I see on the ground. Who knows....

I know that's right! If you got that much money to be carefree with, you can stand to do without it. Damn, I withdraw $500 from the bank and I'm clutching my purse like I'm carrying the proceeds from the U.S. Mint.
Nope, sorry. I'm with you Mack Mama, I got's things to do and that would be just enough to help me do it. Thank you, come again.

Well, I would have turned over the check.  Now if it were cash and there weren't any ink packets laying around nearby....lets just say I would have been off today...and tomorrow....and Saturday.  I would have definitely took the reward. I could use it right about now.

I got to look at this from a legal standpoint...

A cashier's chech has someone's name on it. She has signed it. Too easy to be traced back to me...

I would hafta turn it in. Really hard to cash that and NOT get caught...but otherwise...well...ya know...

It takes a lifetime for man to master the art of living, but living is much easier when he accepts God as his master.

Legally - cashier's checks are bearer paid documents.  The issuer has sole responsilbity to complete the intended drawer name - so if you don't make that mug out - you lose out - plain and simple.  try to say you lost a money order and see if you get your $$ back.  LOL!!!

Here's what I found out on Wikipedia:
A cashier's check (cashier's cheque, bank check, official check, demand draft, teller's check, bank draft or treasurer's check) is a check guaranteed by a bank. They are usually treated as cash since most banks clear them instantly.

Again, See ya. I'm off to get my guaranteed money.

I  just got a cashiers check about a month ago to send to Jamaica and the bank filled out the name of the intended recipient and they signed. I would think most banks would do that for security reasons.
