check with your surgeon and see if he or she recommends you take the pepcid...but, to answer your question yes, it does help me to burp....the good thing is it working almost immediately.

I never took anything for gas. I was thankfully able to walk it out.
Please call your surgeon about taking baking soda. It can interfere with iron/diabetes medication absorption and should be taken one hour before you eat.
Could the gas be coming from the way that you are eating or drinking? If I rush my drinking, I can feel my pouch filling with air.

Maybe it is when i am drinking and trying to eat. I am calling my surgeon right now, i havent really been trying to many more foods because i think it is still to early for me. i am trying a little of something solid once a day. Like today i had a slice of turckey wrapped with a slice of provalone cheese. i think i got in about 5 or 6 grams of protein from that. but i was experienceing this burping feeling before i tried it and now it seems as though it is subsiding a little.

ok, i talked to the nurse and she said i can take pepsid or tums but said she doesnt know about the baking soda right now because there is already a lot going on in my pouch right now. So now that i know that, i will definately keep the pepsid in mind when i have gas. she also said it may be that i am drinking my water to fast.
