I was kinda sorta wondering that myself.
You would think that a newbie would be cut some slack just because of the "newbie" status. If anything, you would think VETS would get jumped on. And I guess it does happen from time to time depending on the vet.

Because you know in real life, it's always a double standard. People continuously have expectations for others that they don't expect of themselves. We as women are a prime example--more times than not, we want a man with a good job, making good money, educated, spiritual, physically fit, etc.
but we aren't necessarily taking care of ourselves completely on all fronts. But we are quick to judge..
I'm not saying it's right but it's true.
Either way these situations are another argument for why I think mandatory pyschological counseling and better followup by doctors should be required for all new post-ops. You can't expect someone to overnight cure addictions, change behaviors, gain some much-needed self-esteem simply because they had WLS. We are the same people fat or not so fat.
