GATEWAY TO 8K, COUCH TO 5K, Are We Running Today?

Morning Yall

I stayed up till like 12:15 and therefore I was late doing my run.  I hate when I can't go to sleep because it messes with my running schedule and I don't like anything to mess up my running. 

I did run 2 of my week 1 of the 8K and it was ok but like I said I stayed up late so I was tired.  I was thinking when I was running,  How dam far do I want to go with this?   I honestly don't think I want to be some long distance runner because I get bored and after a while it's hard for me to keep focused on skinny jeans, or rude ******** who try to discourage me.

All my couch to 5K people,  Keep up the good work.  I know you guys are nearing the end of the program so stay strong,  the runs get longer but you can totally keep up if you really want it.

Hi Lee,

I'm just starting the couch to 5k this week and I've completed 2 of the 3 days. It's tight but it's right! I have to complete this!

That is so great Talisha 

It is hard in the beginning, but it gets better and you get stronger very quickly.   Just keep doing it and you will be so happy you did.

Lee I thought of you this morning when I was out walking/jogging with my dog. That little short stroll I do, I am eventually going to jog that 1.5 miles in no time. You are correct once you start running it gets easier day by day.

The hard part is getting started.   I swear I could barely run that 60 seconds when I started couch to 5K and I am freaking training for a 8K in only 9 1/2 weeks.   THAT IS JUST CRAZY.

I'm going to take your word for it! I'm hoping it gets better; I was breathing so hard this morning...........it was bad but I must admit it was better than day 1.

I will get in Run 2 tonight and post later.  My knees are hurting today but I am going to dose up on some Tylenol and keep it moving!  I am so close to being done!

When my knees were killing me I would ice them during the day and put tiger balm and heat on them at night.  It took a while but the sprang healed and now they are a lot better.  There are days when they hurt more than others but like in the beginning.

I got through 21 minutes of my run before my knees said to hell withcha!!  I did walk the rest.  I am going to get some of that tiger balm you keep talking about.  I am hoping with anti-inflammatories, ice and tiger balm I will be okay with my run on Saturday.  Giving myself an extra day since I will be traveling.  Last weekend for a while...whew!
