whoops - sorry cuz.  Seems like the whole 'bad' times are passing me by right about now. 

I have bought the things I want when I wanted them.

I have paid down debt substantially in the last 18mos.

I got approved for my surgery and have the extra cash on hand to handle most of the out of pocket.

and all my relationships (mom, daughter, work, dude) are great! 

 and I got a raise coming in July......

so, don't change a THING over here!!!!

Yeah, I'm one of those "thankful for a job" folks. 

I think the key is in realizing that his may be our version of  "The Great Depression" (I'm about to get me an apple cart and pick a corner any day now) and that its going to take time to get thru it. 

I hate that I'm just working to solely pay bills and child support (no, not complaining about c.s) rather than enjoy the fruits of my labor.  Unfortunately, going thru all of this is a "neccessary" evil not born of our own choices.  To me, that's the most pitiful part.  But what can I do? 

So, no, pk, u are not alone in your feelings by any means.

You have every reason in the world to be disgruntled If my salary was cut by 50% I would feel the same!!

Thankfully, the economy hasn't really affected me, which is why I almost always make my purchases with American Express to keep me discipline with my spending. It I can't pay it all by the end of the month I don't need it!!

don't forget to be thankful for what you have. even though it aint what you'd like it to be, be thankful you got it.

you're working and struggling.  but i'm lookin at up at you cuz i got laid off a few weeks ago.  somewhere there is a guy who just lost his home who is lookin up at me.

its hardest to be thankful when things aint goin right (according to your standards) but thats probably the time when gratitude is needed the most.

I feelllllllllllllll you!! especailly on the nothing really exciting to do...the exciting thing for me to do was to go to some off-beat resturant...but now I can't even do that *sigh*

However I did just walk the dog this evening and I have to say that was kinda fun...lol
