You didn't anwer either of my questions.  However, by your lack of an answer, you confirmed my thoughts.  

With racism like that going on here, I will not be back.  Perhaps I am too pasty to be here, and I certainly wouldn't want any of you tripping over my white robe.

That is because I am in the habit of not responding to ignorance. But since you want to have a dialog let me ask you this...Why did you feel the need to come all the way over here to take issue to what you considered to be racist comments but when obvious racist comments were made on the board that you frequent, you had no chastising words to say to those individuals? I read those comments and they were extremely offensive but I find it funny how you casually overlooked those comments.

Now over here unlike over there we accept everybody. Doesn't matter what color, religion, or nationality you are. All is welcome. But when you come over here starting mess than we will politely show you the door. Don't start none... won't be none. So yes take your white sheet, robe or whatever else on out the door and while you are leaving... think about the double standard that you just perpetuated.

Exactly my point - the racism thing is wrong no matter where it is.   I didn't perpetuate anything.  The race thing was brought up by ValueMe - no one had said anything about it prior.  The crackertown comment was rude and that was the only one I saw and I did comment on it.  In fact, I just re-read the thread and that was the most offensive thing I saw.  


We can agree to disagree and leave it at that.  You have a pleasant evening, too.

I only came here last night to see what was going on.  I admit I don't come here.  I came here because of the racism comments.  So imagine my shock at seeing references to the KKK, pasty skinned people and white robes......

Someone last night phrased it perfectly - that things get lost on screen sometimes.  Case in point last night.  I have no issue with anyone.  I cannot believe that a thread about free chicken escalated to this.....

i believe the key word here is "reference".  R&R regulars were "like" the KKK pouncing on "them" for what some perceive as a difference or misunderstanding on TONE. 

what you are used to on R&R may not be what others are used to on "their" forum.  maybe some things were taken out of context or the tone was misunderstood. let's just leave it at that...

If that is the case, why use the KKK?  I am not sure there is any other way to interpret that.  R&R is open to anyone and racism is not acceptable there or anywhere, for that matter.

Surely there is another group that could have been used to convey your thoughts.  Referring to the KKK means only one thing.

r&r is open to everyone?  i beg to differ.  i've lurked over there for quite some time...welcoming is not how i would describe it.  if someone (new poster) decides to go against the grain of the board, you guys surround and attack...maybe the reference should have been hyenas (sp) lions, or other wild animals. 

being as though the attackers (or those who ran to the rescue of the r&r member) were all of the caucasian persuasion, and the attackee was of the african american persuasion, one would perceive the attack to be racial...again a matter of perception.  on the other hand, if they know like i know, it's not about race on r&r, it's about who is in the "in crowd" or your "family"...same dynamics on this forum.  we are family too.

Thanks Shontay!  You have summed up in 2 pararaphs what I have been trying to explain for hours!

  n/p.  i think this whole thing got out of hand because of the tone, or lack thereof.  we "know" each other here on this board.  everyone has a job.  we have the comedians, the smart asses, the know-it-alls....you get my drift.  we know our family.  the same can be said over there.  i just think the entire thing got misconstrued because "we" didn't know them or "their" jobs...if that makes sense.  the lady who got on QT for her sig was doing her job as the po-po.  andrea was doing her job coming to the aid of her family. 

words on a screen can be taken so many different ways.  i think this was a great example how something so innocent can be taken so wrong and bring about all of this nonsense.
