NUT: It wasn't so bad!!!
Hey y'all,
Been MIA.. work is picking up big time, plus all these doctor visits, working out everyday now, my travel biz picking up - it's been hectic and haven't been able to get on.
I've lost 6 lbs so far!! Excited!
Went to NUT for 1st time. Brought her a spreadsheet of likes/dislikes...
SHE IS NOT FORCING ME TO EAT WHAT I DON'T/WON'T!!!
Her main thing is if I'm not going to eat veggies (but told her I would try green beans 1st), then I need to up my fruits to everyday AND start eating salads. She wants me to try these BEFORE the surgery. We agreed to start w/ tomatoes & iceberg w/ lite Italian, then as I get OK with that, to start adding Romaine or other greens until I'm weened off Iceberg.
Told her I tried strawberry yogurt & gagged (I can't swallow ANYTHING thick). The taste wasn't bad, but it was something about it that bugged me. She said what some of my friends said - strawberry isn't the 1st one you want to try - it's tangy. Told her I was told peach or vanilla - she agreed and told me brands that may be a little thinner. She said if I couldn't get it down, don't force it, it wasn't a requirement, but would give me more variety after surgery.
Her main thing was to @ least try stuff. We just did pre-op stuff. I'm already cooking w/ olive mostly, then canola (except for french fries - I'm to start baking, then we'll see after that), change from stick to tub margarine, cut fats & sugars - since I'm a crave snacker, she wasn't too concerned. Except my cereal. I eat corn flakes w/ sugar. I've gone from 10 sppons a few years ago (do not ask - I don't know how I did it either - guess that's why I'd feel faint after eating a bowl!!) to 3-5 now - and that depends on bowl size, but mostly 4 spoons. She asked that I change to Splenda - told her tried it in cereal (love in drinks), but no-go. So I need to try Truvia (anyone try that??). If I don't like that, and I'm not doing much other sugar, for now she can live with it, but after surgery, depends.
So, that's it...

Congratulations on losing 6 lbs!!!! LOL at the sugar on cornflakes because I used to do it too just not as many spoons as yours...dayum that must have been a sugar high LOL! May I ask why she wants you weened from iceberg lettuce?
People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas. ~Author Unknown
Thanks! (I'm sure it was the pills... but hey...)
Girl, I'm down to 3-5... depends on the size of the bowl.. more milk, the sugar disperses more. Hence, need for more sugar... lol
I think b/****berg has no nutritional value. But I don't eat salads. I'm not looking forward to it. I really don't like a lot of crunchy things - other than Oreos or cheetoes... But, do what I gotta do. I just need to get the nerve up. Last time I tried to buy salad stuff, it sat til it was mush in my crisper.

lol @ the yogurt! I hated before surgery and hate it after surgery!
In my honest opinion the only thing I would concern myself with is that sugar addiction...that's really bad! I used Splenda before surgery and hardly use after...
More than likely you will have to go on a liquid diet and that will totally put you in check...so as ppl told me while I was pre-op (which I think was the best advice) enjoy it now...because as they say all good (although they are really bad) things will come to an end once you wake up from surgery...
But do atleast try some salads and stuff...

There's only 2 places I really NEED sugar - corn flakes and strawberries. Now, the strawberries, sometimes Splenda alone gets it - depending on natural sweetness. Sometimes, I add a lil sugar to it.
Liquid diet? Nope!!! JOY!! I know definitely 24 hours prior. MAybe 48, but I asked that in a seminar. Plus, since I'm on Aetna's 3 month plan, I *should* be losing weight anyway - and have been.
Her main thing was fats & sugars. While she said I was a carb junkie, she wasn't concerned b/c carbs are eaten last - that's gonna take some getting used to, b/c I eat my side and meat @ the same time.
Yogurt =
