My 2nd Date is Finally Set!
I have a surgery date set, June 11 for vertical sleeve gastrectomy after having had a failed lapband. I am eager to begin this new journey & look forward to the opportunity/lifestyle of small portions once again. I must admit that I realize that mentally I am not quite as hyped as I was for my original wls, I guess b/c to some degree I know what to expect. I am just critically relieved to know that my tool is about to return to me in this battle of weight management. I am fearful of not being able to be compliant with a suggested 2 week liquid diet (very strict) prior to surgery, as this was not a requirement for me the last time around & I was heavier. I think the fact that I am juggling so many major things at the same time, keeps me from me OVERJOYED in the way that I would think that I would be--discussing marriage, wrapping up research for doctorate degree dissertation, awaiting divisional & possible departmental reorganization for my job & newly surfaced elevated blood pressure readings.
