help very sick
I have a 3 year old nephew who has been sick for a while (I babaysit him everyday m-f). Well last week my side started to hurt and called doc and they said its probably just healing pain but to keeep an eye on it. And if it hurts to try tynonol (but I cant swallow pills!). Now today I have a major headache, noticed I have been getting a cold so sore throat, pain in my side is irrated everytime I cough and I just took my temperature and have a low grade fever (100.2). What can I take as medicine (they said childrens tynonol cause its in liquid form...but I would have to take like 10 tsp to equal the right dose)? What about Vicks because w have that in the house already.
Also is this something that I should cause worry? I am a week out on Tuesday from RNY and have a doctors appointment on Monday, so I don't want to do anything unnecesary like rush off to the hospital if it isn't needed). Also I just noticed my eyelids are getting heavy. HELP!!!

Have you been keeping the little one this early out of surgery? It may be too much for you this soon. 3yo's can be a real handful, especially if he is somehow sick (not good for YOU) & you need to heal, Sweetie!
Because you are so fresh out of surgery, I recommend calling your surgeon's office for advice NOW, even if it's after hours (service should contact them to call you).

Tylenol comes in adult liquid. I you can't get to the store use the children's if its all the same just more liquid.
What does the little one have? Have you caught it? Or is it something else.
Fever is a sign of infection. If tylenol does not help it pass quickly or you are feeling worse, or fever worsens please call the surgeon again. Right away.
Please, no taking chances it will just go away. You're too precious for that.

V'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
Thank you everyone for your answers. I was okayed to star****ching him again but he gets colds frequently as a result of being a preme (his mom is the same way). I called the doctor and he told me just swallow two whole pilss if I could (because any medicine is better than none right now and he knows it won't harm me since next week I'll be a month out). He told me to watch the fever (101.5) and if it goes up anymore, refuses to go down, or any pain gets worse to go to call him and then head to the emergency room and he'll be there waiting for me unless if not to come in first thing tomorrow norning (which it looks like I'm going to do). I'll post how I am tomorrow!

Is it a cold or upper respiratory infection. I didn't know it was catching for a long time. I would keep the GB and she would be sick mom would be sick then I'll get sick days between each other. Mom would be a work and I'll be in bed with the sick GB giving her meds and taking my own. And it was seasonal so we was sick often. We stayed with low grade fever becareful it can last for a while.
