Stall
Hey all,
I've hit my first stall. the scale has been fluctuating within the same 3lbs. for almost 3 weeks and it's driving me insane. I know I know that stalls are a part of the process but I'm just not ready!
My strategy was going to be to cut back, especially on some of the things that I shouldn't be eating like the small amount of carbs that I've been eating. However I was just on the main board and one of the vets over there advised a poster with the same dilemma as me to increase her carbs and switch up her exercise routine.
My question to you all especially the vets is what did you do to get the scale moving again? Did you cut back on calories, increase calories what worked for you.

After about 7 months out I realized that I had to increase my calories to keep losing. Increasing caloric intake is very scary and to me very risky. So, now I switch it up alot. Some weeks I have very few calories and others I will eat more high calorie foods. The thing is to make sure that they are healthy calories.
One of my many stalls was Oct. 2007. I had been at the same weight for about 30 days and the day after Holloween I had taken all the chocolate candy to work to give away and while it was sitting on my desk I indulged in a few of the minature bars of chocolate. 30 minutes later I had eaten about 6. I sat at my desk in a daze bracing myself and preparing for a mad dash to the restroom. But nothing happened. Now, mind you, I was never a big chocolate eater before WLS (Well, I was big but not big on eating chocolate) and after WLS I dumped on everything (except chocolate) . Within the week of eating that chocolate, I dropped 10 pounds. I repeated this each time I had a stall and noticed that the more I ate the more I lost. Now I crave chocolate. I now try not to increase my calories with junk but to find healthy alternatives.
Again, it is frightening becuase I never know when its a stall or I have just finished losing. So I constantly weigh myself (several times per day).
Now I just play around with the calories so my body never gets comfortable. Its really hard becuase i still dont have much of an appetite. I noticed that I can eat more but I am not really interested in eating anymore. I dont like meals but I like to snack and I am trying to break myself out of that becuase that was part of the reason for needing WLS.

Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!
Hi There,
I'm not a vet but I had my first stall last month. My initial thought was.........already???? Then my NUT told me to switch up my eating habits and we broke down what I eat on a regular basis.....she told me to start eating within the hour once I wake up in the morning. Once I tried that, I started back losing again. According to my NUT you have to continue switching up things so your body will not get comfortable.
