Mental note to self:  STOP posting on the threads where newbies ask why you chose one procedure over another - if you have had RNY - a DSer will surely come to smote you!!!!!!

Good GRIEF!!!!!  Whatever happened to simple support?  Can't ONE mofo in CREATION be happy and sucessful with the damn thing??  Do I REALLY need to be pelted about the head with DS vs. RNY facts CONSTANTLY????

Or am I to be beat down until I shout from the mountaintops "RNY SUCKS - DS is the only way to go - anything else is PROMISED FAILURE!!!!"

Aiight - I'm off my soapbox - going to eat my chicken and potato - I'm surely about to gain all my weight back and more afterward anyway so no use exercising.........

Did I say there weren't RNYers who diss surgeries?  Nope - I specifically refered to the posts that *I* have participated in where *I* have been confronted and had to defend RNY as soley my choice.

I really don't give a flyin FLIP about who got what when and who's more successful over the long haul and blah, blah, BLAH.  I am ONLY answering and stating what worked FOR ME.  that was my WHOLE point - it's MY opinion about MY experience - not about a group or a single other mofo on the planet!!!!

another mental note - gotta start following my mental notes!!!  LMAO

Hi Shontay!  Yes the band get slammed quite often.

People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas. ~Author Unknown

My counterparts do get a lil fiesty with it lol. I always try to just give the facts and not put my personal opinion in the equation. I just wouldn't want someone to not know all thier options. But puttin other surgeries down is not cool. Everything is not for everybody and we have success stories on this board from all the different surgeries!

And............linkipoo please?

Now reading her post if I was her I would get the DS...wait wait lol. She already has arthritis and even though the weight loss will help her joints she still might have to take NSAIDS longterm in the future. With that being risky with RNY I would go DS or VSG so I would have the liesure of taking them if needed. With her BMI being 61 I would go with the DS over VSG because she might need the malabsorbtion to boost her weight loss and help keep it off a lil better.

I don't get into the posts "which surgery should I have" farther than shouting out to check out the DS, so I won't touch that one with a 10 ft pole. She could be successful with any of the surgeries, but with her arthritis and migraines the RNY is prob the least fitting for her.
