OT...any hairdressers out there
A texturizer is chemically different than a relaxer, so you can't switch between the two - you have to cut off all previously relaxed hair if you switch and if you want to go back straight, you have to regrow your hair.
I had been thinking of doing the same thing - but my hairdresser is going to do a relaxer 'light' - so i won't be bone straight and will still keep my texture. It's gonna be a never-done-before on me - but I'm going to try something different.......

I was just looking through some old posts and I found this one ,idk if im too late to hel*****t . I am a cosmetologist ( hair nails and skin) been licensed for a few tyears now and I wanted to answer the initial ?...............texturizers and relaxers are actually about the same ,if you are gonna texturize you just stop the process sooner . If you wanna relax ypou leave in longer and end up straight.
My specialty is ralax to natural........my clients usually go for the chop and weave or braid and snip those are the two methods people sem to loke the most . ......................................if I can be of any assistance let me know
