While I agree that Race Relations SHOULD be discussed, that, unfortunately, is one of those "dirty little secrets" that people like to act like it doesn't happen. There are those, I guess, who believe that, because we have a African-American POTUS, they are saying that we've finally "made it".
Just as you will never see a formal apology for the instituion of human bondage in this country, you probably won't ever see a frank, honest, no-holds-barred discussion by anyone who can make a change. And even if one could, while you can legislate actions, unfortunately, u cannot legislate attitudes/ prejudices/stereotypes.

I agree. And I think that these hard economic times are making things even more difficult. I think we all are going to have to grind out race relations in the "trenches" because there is not much more that the gov't can do.
