Tell the truth! What will you eat for lunch?
Eating a homemade broiled turkey burger with low fat shredded cheddar cheese on Very thin Peppridge Farm Whole Wheat bread (It is DELICIOUS!!!)...
Anyone want the recipe for the turkey burgers?
1 package of Purdue ground turkey
1/4 red onion, diced into small pieces
Lawry's salt
garlic powder
minced onion
pepper
2% shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite low-fat cheese)
Mix the seasoning and onion with the ground turkey and shape into patties. Place on aluminum foil and place this on a cookie sheet. Heat oven to 450-500 (or broil). Let cook for at least 5-7 minutes on each side. Before removing from oven, sprinkle cheddar cheese on burger and remove from broiler.
Other variations - add chopped mushrooms to the ground turkey; you can also saute mushrooms and onion in a very small amount of olive oil and create a mushroom/onion turkey burger.
